Archos Mobile, a global software company, has been acquired by Japanese technology company Kirin Technology.
Archos, a cloud-based mobile device management platform, was founded in 2006 and was a pioneer in the smartphone industry, according to a statement.
The acquisition will allow Archos to focus on expanding its product offerings.
It will also allow Archis to build on its strong technology and innovation base.
The new owner of Archos will continue to have complete control over the company.
The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2021.
“We are delighted to announce the acquisition of Archo Mobile, which will help us deliver a world-class mobile platform for archos customers, and to continue Archos’ success as a leader in the mobile platform industry,” Kirin CEO Haruo Takagi said in the announcement.
“Archos is a great example of a company that is focused on innovation, innovation and innovation is good for business, which is the core of our strategy for Archos,” he added.
Archis’ mobile platform has become a popular choice for consumers, and has seen strong growth in the past few years.
The company has been valued at more than $300 million in 2016 and is expected as high as $1 billion by 2021.
The smartphone company’s revenue was $17.5 billion in 2017, and the company’s market cap is $30.3 billion.
Archo was founded by a team of software developers, and it grew out of a previous company, Arcadis, which was acquired by Apple in 2014.
The mobile software platform is the world’s largest for enterprise customers, with about 70 million devices in use worldwide, according the company website.
The business grew rapidly, and Archos was acquired in 2016.
The Archos mobile device platform will continue in operation as a standalone product, and will be maintained by the Kirin family of companies, the statement said.
ArchiX was founded a decade ago, and its goal is to develop new ways to manage data and apps, and build an ecosystem of connected devices.
The firm, based in Singapore, is based in China, and currently has 10 employees.
Archios also has its own cloud-enabled platform for business use, and plans to open that to all businesses in 2020, the company said.
“With this acquisition, Archos becomes the first major cloud-managed enterprise platform to benefit from the global power of Kirin Technologies, a leading global leader in digital business, analytics, and digital commerce,” said Archos CEO Hiromasa Hata in the statement.
“Together with Kirin, Archi X will bring our platform to the next level of success, and enable Archos customers to take control of their digital lives,” Hata said.
